Blue Distinction® Specialty Care

Chandler Regional Medical Center is proud to earn the Blue Care Distinction certifications from Blue Cross Blue Shield. The hospital you select can have a direct impact on the care you receive and your procedure results, but finding the right facility can sometimes be a challenge. The Blue Distinction Specialty Care program identifies hospitals with proven expertise in delivering specialty care.

Chandler Regional Medical Center has earned the Blue Distinction® Center for Knee / Hip Replacement and Blue Distinction Center+ for Spine. It has lower complication rates and fewer hospital readmissions, In addition to being recognized for expertise in delivering specialty care.

• Knee and Hip Replacement centers provide inpatient knee and hip replacement services, including total knee and total hip replacement surgeries
• Spine Surgery centers provide inpatient spine surgery services, including discectomy, fusion and decompression procedures.

NOTE: Blue Distinction Centers (BDC) met overall quality measures for patient safety and outcomes, developed with input from the medical community. A Local Blue Plan may require additional criteria for facilities located in its own service area; for details, contact your Local Blue Plan.

Blue Distinction Centers+ (BDC+) also met cost measures that address consumers’ need for affordable health care. Each facility’s cost of care is evaluated using data from its Local Blue Plan. Facilities in CA, ID, NY, PA and WA may lie in two Local Blue Plans’ areas, resulting in two evaluations for cost of care; and their own Local Blue Plans decide whether one or both cost of care evaluation(s) must meet BDC+ national criteria.
